I should start this off by saying that this was part of a plan created by Sword and though late by a month, it's still being carried out. With mod permission (I'll be saying this a lot through the app), she'll have memories of the time she spent in Mayfield. Prepare for craziness and copypasta.

Other Characters:Your friendly neighborhood 4th wall breaker Asagi
Name: Twilight Sparkle
From: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Appearance: The cutest purple unicorn ever
Age: Pony ages are weird, so let’s say in the teenage to young adult phase
Gender: Female
Personality: The very first thing that should be made clear about Twilight Sparkle is that she is a proud bookworm. She has (and would gladly) spend day after day studying and reading through book after book to for the sake of learning everything she possibly can. Some of her greatest joys include learning new things and mastering the subjects she already knows; as such, Twilight is a very knowledgeable pony who relies on fact and doesn’t mind sharing her knowledge with those who wish to hear it.
This, however, does come with a flipside: because of her dedication to studies, she doesn’t have many friends and has become a bit socially awkward. Twilight doesn’t avoid other ponies, though; even before her relocation to Ponyville, she was acquainted enough with other ponies to get invited to a party, but turned down the rejection for the sake of her studies and other such matters she felt needed her attention more. Although she does try to take care of matters on her own at first, she’s learned to accept a friend’s help if she needs it.
This also brings up another pressing issue in Twilight’s character; sometimes, she’s too reliant on the info she reads and doesn’t have enough faith in things she can’t prove. This is especially prevalent with the supernatural; she accepts magic because it’s something that has to be learned, fine-tuned and researched, but voodoo, curses and her friend, Pinkie Pie’s unique ability of foresight are things she refuses to simply “believe in.” Although it’s a bit odd for one to support both the sciences and magic (they’ve always seemed to be at war with each other), Twilight would sooner turn to them and desperately look for a way to explain the phenomenon than simply having faith, but like many of her negative quirks, it’s something she’s working on. There was also a time when a tree broke through her window during a sleepover and instead of trying to get it out of her home, she turned to her book on sleepovers and tried to determine whether this counted as camping.
While Twilight can usually maintain her composure and a rational mindset, she has occasions of emotional outbursts and temporary sanity loss. The former usually happens when Twilight’s pent up frustration boils over and her body catches fire in classic cartoony fashion. While she’s far from fireproof, it’s safe to assume this doesn’t do any harm to her. The latter, however, is brought about when her plans crumble and fall apart around her or attempts at figuring out specific problems are repeatedly met with failure. Much like the sleepover accident mentioned in the previous paragraph, Twilight has moments when she won’t exactly think straight; one such example is when a celebration was meant to be held in honor of Princess Celestia’s visit, but because it was interrupted by a swam of strange insects, Twilight suggested that the residents build an exact replica of Ponyville nearby in the few seconds they had before the princess’ arrival.
Out of her circle of friends (and everyone in Ponyville), Twilight is easily the most adept with magic. Whereas most ponies’ cutie marks represent the pony’s greatest attribute or talent, Twilight’s represents magical affinity. Even before she had real control over it, her magical outburst at a young age was enough to receive personal mentorship from Princess Celestia herself. Ever since then, Twilight has worked to improve upon her abilities to prove her worth to her friends and her mentor.
But despite her prowess, Twilight chooses not to brag about it or show it off. Part of such extends from her social awkwardness and need to belong to some group of ponies since she used to worry that her friends would reject her if she used her magic too often. Although she’s opposed to showing off, Twilight will still use her magic whenever she needs to. She’s just about this humble with all of her talents. Social awkwardness and slight shyness aside, Twilight is more than willing to make new friends and learn new things. She really is a curious pony and wouldn’t mind lending a hoof to those who need it. She’s known for her organization skills and as a librarian, she’s more than capable of helping others sort things out.
However, things changed for her during her stay in Mayfield. For one, she learned to have more faith in things than she was normally accustomed to, mostly since it’s what kept her alive during her stay. She went through many ups and downs from losing so many friends that she’s come to expect the worst out of most situations and plan accordingly. Most importantly, her time in Mayfield gave her a large feeling of independence and self-sufficiency after spending so much time without Princess Celestia present. Of course Twilight still worships and respects her, but she’s at the point where she won’t freak out without her anymore.
Enduring so many events has actually helped her mellow out a bit. It’s nothing that’s made her into an emotionless, battle scarred war survivor, but she’s still more accustomed to tragedy more than any pony should be. Rather than let that hold her back, Twilight looks back on this as a testament to how much she’s grown since first coming to the town. The biggest obstacle she circumnavigated, aside from losing so many pony friends (Celestia included), was the problem of existentialism after being told she was just a clone of the real Twilight. She assured herself that everything she endured was real to her and in her own way, she was just as real as the pony she’s based on. It’s not easy being told you can’t go home because you’re a digital copy, but because of her unwavering willpower, Twilight was able to move forward with her life.
Backstory: Well it all started when she was just a little filly and she attended the summer sun celebration with her parents. Here, she watched Princess Celestia raise the sun in her typical royal and glorified manner. It’s generally a lovely sight to behold, but for Twilight? She began to idolize Princess Celestia and from that day forward, dedicated herself to the study of magic. It was strenuous in the beginning with a lot of focus needed just to turn the page of a book, but she got used to it quickly. She read through all of the books at home and still yearned for more. That’s when her parents surprised her with an enrollment notice to Princess Celestia’s school for gifted unicorns and Twi’s name right on it.
But to get in, she had to take an entrance exam (which consisted of hatching a dragon egg via magic). Her efforts failed, but because of a Sonic Rainboom (the pony equivalent to a sonic boom) that took place nearby, the startled Twilight not only triggered enough magic to hatch the egg, but watched as she lost control of her magic and caused general lighthearted havoc in the room. Here, Princess Celestia had to intervene and bring Twilight back down to control. Surprised by her great potential, she offered to take up Twilight as her own student. The event also gave Twilight her cutie mark (a little picture on a pony’s butt that represents their special talent) in magic, leaving the excited unicorn to dance around the room in pure glee. Fast forward several years later and Twilight has already established herself as an incredibly intelligent and loyal student to the princess. The dragon she hatched (Spike) has lived with her since, acting as a younger brother and assistant to her studies.
And then the show begins with Twilight reading her books and discovering that Princess Celestia’s sister, Luna, was going to return from her banishment to the moon to wreck things in Equestria and make it nighttime all the time. Which is bad. Because lots of ponies would die. So the instant she reports this to Celestia, she gets a response to stop worrying and focus on making friends and decides to send her to the backwater town of Ponyville to do just that as well as check on the preparations for the upcoming summer sun celebration. Not one who can deny the princess’ requests, Twi does as she’s told and goes there. She meets the other main characters and after getting acquainted with their wackiness, witnesses the return of Luna (as Nightmare Moon) and Celestia is nowhere to be seen. Here she has to pull together with her new friends and become Super Sentai Pony Rangers thanks to the Elements of Harmony, six artifacts of macguffin importance that remain a theme for the rest of the show. Oh, and they save Nightmare Moon from her insanity and save Luna. High fives all around.
Then the rest of the first season happens and Twilight and her friends go through usual slice-of-life issues that are allowed in a kids show. She grows somewhat as a person and when the writers don’t fuck up, the lessons learned keep with continuity. Fast forward to the beginning of season 2 and once again, Princess Celestia has to hand down one of her biggest problems of the past to Twilight. Its name was Discord, god of chaos and disharmony. Twi and her friends need to redo the seal put on him with the Elements of Harmony since they passed on to them. Unlucky for them, Discord spends one and a half episodes messing with all of them and separating the main group before Twilight remembers that as protagonist pony, it’s her job to set things right and smack some sense into her friends. Then she does. And Discord gets sealed away and they all celebrate with a Star Wars-esque award ceremony. The writers love their references.
And then some more slice-of-life hijinx happens! Twi isn’t around as much since they decided not to include her into every episode, but she still goes through the rest of the show as she did before. And here’s where the good part begins.
About mid-way through season 2, Twilight gets pulled into a little game on LiveJournal called Mayfield in July of 2011, a nightmare fueled town that forces people to live together in homes without their powers as they deal with horrific events all the while. Here, Twilight learns of the existence of humans and is forced to go about life without her magic. This is important since magic is her life and in a world designed for humans, it’s difficult for a creature without hands to get by. Thankfully, she makes enough friends who help her survive and read books without magic. That is important because no matter what goes down, she’ll never turn down a book. Too bad for her that Mayfield’s selection sucked entirely. Thankfully, she was able to meet with others from Equestria (including her friends and Princess Celestia) and their friendship would help them survive the regular bloodbaths and traumatic events that were standard for the place. Then by about mid-December, her memory blanks. OOCly, this is because of the move from LJ to DW and Twi’s previous mun didn’t transfer her over. She comes back to the town and her senses in February of 2012, when I apped her back into town.
She was still without her magic, but even after blanking out for so long, she retained her memories from before, so getting reacquainted with Mayfield was easy. She made it through the monthly event just fine and things seemed pretty good…that is, until Princess Celestia was taken by the town. She hadn’t spoken to her since December of the previous year, so finding out this happened so shortly after coming back? It hurt her deep.
But more than that, it demonstrated the power Mayfield had over everyone, including the mare Twilight idolized and respected. She tried working through it, but the depression made her sanity drop to unhealthy levels as she traded in a few memories and an eye so she could use magic again. After a few days of insanity-induced searching for Celestia, she was brought back to her senses and had to come to terms with being without the mare who was with her since childhood.
Once she was back to normal, Twilight went right back to her studies and making new friends while maintaining her old ones. She made some, she lost some…it was a harsh cycle and one she was very unused to, especially since all of her friends were in such close contact back in Mayfield. Watching so many of them be lost to the town kind of scarred her, especially since a lot of ponies were dropped and she still wasn’t over the loss of Celestia. Thankfully, her friends helped her through that and kept her moving forward.
It wasn’t until another evil event when Twi was forced through another personality upgrade; instead of venturing to the places created by the town, she created a barrier around her house so she and her housemates would be safe from whatever the town did. However, one of her housemates got into a heated argument with her about being unable to save his friends because of this and through that, she felt she resonated with the ones in charge of Mayfield. She wanted to do the right thing, but upon coming to this realization, came to regret it. Despite this, she learned that she had to stay true to herself since the town wanted everyone to become people they weren’t, so by being herself, she was fighting back.
So a few months later, the town starts falling apart, one thing lead to another and the citizens of Mayfield were face to face with the man who created the town: Zemekis. There were hints about it over the years, but Zemekis confirmed that Mayfield was a virtual simulation created to escape the nuclear wasteland that was the real world (because the game is based on a segment of Fallout 3) and slapped down one of the bigger surprises the town had in store: everyone brought there was simply a digital clone of their original counterparts and as such, could never return home, even if the town crumbled. Zemekis brought everyone to Mayfield in hopes of saving everyone from the horrors of real life. A simple dream that got easily corrupted over time thanks to conspirators amongst his ranks and his own sanity tanking as time passed. But despite this, Twilight was able to reconcile with him and in the end, she forgave him for what he did. A huge step forward for her.
Afterwards, the town collapsed and they were all able to escape it. They reached a deserted town far away from Mayfield; they were told that they would be able to live here for a few years while the server was still functional and despite being unable to return home, they would be able to live their lives however they chose in this new land. Twilight accepted this fate and began her life anew in this town, with the friends who returned from Mayfield’s captivity and with the ones who survived with her. It was a long and arduous journey and even though she never saw Celestia again, she knew in her heart that she made her and the rest of her friends proud.
…but here’s where things get even more interesting. To save the trouble of canon updating later, Twilight, to her surprise…returns to Equestria to continue living her life as she did before. From here on out, she progressed through the rest of season 2, saving Equestria from an invasion of creatures called Changelings while also saving the marriage of her older brother, Shining Armor, and her foal sitter, Princess Cadence. Once season 3 happens, Twi is once again tasked with being the protagonist pony as Princess Celestia reminds her of having some epic destiny because as protagonist pony, only she candefeat Ganon be truly relevant to the plot. This time around, it was to fight off yet another villain in Celestia’s past. The two parter demonstrates Twi’s improvement in the fields of magic and her ability of self-sacrifice, willingly failing the test Celestia gave her to ensure the defeat of this new enemy. Surprisingly, it’s through this action she passes said test and continues being the most important character in the plot.
Slice-of-life shenanigans continue once again as Twilight develops as a character and an eternal plot device. But after the most recent episode (season 3, episode 7), she’ll get plopped into the city with Mayfield memories intact.
Moral Standing: Neutral good, I want to say? She’s far from a shounen hero, but Twilight knows the differences between right and wrong and vastly sticks to right as much as she can.
Dreams: Simply put, she wants the approval of her friends and especially her mentor, Princess Celestia. She is all about bettering herself so she can both be somepony others can rely on and somepony to be proud of.
Fears: MAGIC KINDERGARTEN
But on a more serious note, she has a huge fear of letting her friends and her mentor down. As protagonist pony, she has to bear a hell of a lot of responsibility and while she’ll balance it out to the best of her ability, Twilight fears that a single lapse will lead to everything crumbling down.
Extra: With mod permission, Twilight is being brought in with her memories from Mayfield. She was there for over a year and endured a hell of a lot during her stay. This lead to quite a few changes in her personality, but she made it her mission to stay true to herself the entire time.
Character Location: Her library treehouse. It’s a basic library that’s…shaped like a tree. And she lives in it. It is comfortable. And with mod permission, it will retain notes left behind by the previous Twilight.
Samples: How about a wiki page? No? Then have a greatest hits collection.
